Den 6:e mars 2019 blandade Pierre Tilquin en annorlunda Gueuze som han inte riktigt visste var en skulle landa. Han skrev följande efter denna dag:

Today, we bottled a very special and extremely delicious blend of Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne. It could be called “Cuvée du patron”. We took 4 barrels of 3 years old lambics, 4 barrels of 2 years old lambics and 2 barrels of 1 year old lambics. Average age of the lambics : 2 years and 2 months (compared to 1 year and 8 months for our normal blend). The tasting and the choice of the lambics was epic!

Den 12:e juli samma år frågade jag Pierre vad som var tanken med brygden och vad som hade hänt med Cuvée du Patron. Svaret jag fick var lite svävande men på vissa punkter ändå tydligt:

It is not already on the market and I don’t know when I will release it….

…and it is not available for your club. Sorry.

Nu har äntligen Pierre bestämt sig vad som ska hända med denna unika blandning och härom veckan gick han ut med följande pressmeddelande:

Dear Gueuzerie Tilquin fans, here is some exclusive info.

On the 6th of March 2019, we did a very, very, special blend in anticipation of the 10 year anniversary of the first Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne (which was sold in May 2011). It is composed of 20% 1 year old, 40% 2 years old and 40% 3 years old lambics. Crazy isn’t it ?

This was bottled on the day after on the 7th of March 2019. We hope to be able to sell this in May 2021, when this blend will have more than 2 years in the bottle.

It’s not an easy task, but I had to devote myself to check the quality, and I don’t know what to say, I am speechless…

Detta låter mycket lovande eftersom Pierre är en kräsen själ och jag hoppas verkligen några flaskor hittar till Sverige.
