Att det är tuffa tider för många restauratörer nu är ingen nyhet och de flesta slåss med näbbar samt klor för att hålla sig flytande. I Belgien är det inget undantag och med två kraftiga nedstängningar skriker de efter stöd.

Detta gäller exempelvis två av världens bästa barer som med alla medel tillåtna skriker på hjälp. Jag talar om de två Moeder Lambic-krogarna vilka är belägna i Bryssel och som jag rekommenderar alla att besöka när de besöker den belgiska huvudstaden. Nu när vi inte får resa finns det andra sätt att stödja dem…

För att försöka rädda sig ur den katastrofala situation som råder bland belgiska barer har Moeder Lambics ägare startat en donationssida där man kan ge ett ekonomiskt bidrag och samtidigt ha möjlighet att vinna någon exklusiv flaska från deras digra källare*. Här följer krögarnas egna ord:

We are running two craft beer bars in Brussel, Moeder Lambic Original and Moeder Lambic Fontainas.

We took a really hard blow on the first lockdown from march to june.

Our best months, a lot of events planned, the square was finished and we had the most wonderful spring ever…but we just dump a lot of food and beers.

We took a loan to pass the storm, we reopened in June and tried to recover slowly, in a depressed center without offices, business, tourists.

In October we are forced to close for the second time, until February or march, this is a crippling blow.

Let’s be transparent:

We have lost 15000€ in beers and food on day one in march, 80 plugged kegs and a ton of food and about 5000€ the second time.

We are losing 9000€ a month for both Moeder Lambic in renting, insurances, phone, accounts, interests…From march to march it will be 8 months without any cent.

We also have to pay for our employee holidays 46000€ in march 2020 and probably 30000€ in march 2021.

We got 4000€ from the state the first time and 3000€ the second time that s 14000€ overall.

So basically we will lose more or less 154000€

This go fund me is for Moeder Lambic a path to survive Covid 19 crisis.

We will pay the large part of our Losses for years but we need a bit of help and solidarity to survive.
